KIWI LANE DESIGNS BLOG HOP

Welcome, welcome everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog on your way through the hop today. I am so excited to be a part of this group! And so happy to get back to blogging. I've taken a looong absence, and this project was a perfect jump start back into it. So thank you to Kristy for getting me out of "retirement." ;) Actually, this will be my first post back, but the last post on this blog. I've revamped everything and will be moving over to All Around Eye Candy in the next week or two. HOORAY!! It's so close to being done. I will have all kinds of fun things going on over there between my graphic design, interior design, vintage furniture refurbishing, photography, mixed media projects, sewing projects and healthy living tips and recipes. (I DEFINITELY have project A.D.D., can you tell? LOL) So I hope you join me over there just as soon as I get it going. I've set up a facebook page for it in the meantime, so if you want to "like" me there, you'll be the first to know when I'm up and running! ( https://www.facebook.com/AllAroundEyeCandy ) It's a brand spanking new page, so don't be surprised if you're the first to like it. ;)

ON TO THE PROJECT!!

Kristy, from KLD, sent me the {TINY BRACKET} set of templates. They are the cutest little things! I am seriously in love with them. When I opened the package, I instantly had tons of projects run through my head that I could do with them. I can totally picture them being used to make fantastic little tags!

I ended up doing a layout, using one of Teresa Collins' newest lines Family Stories. (JUST released last week at summer CHA in Vegas!) Lucky for me, a few months ago I had new family pictures done and our outfit colors matched this line perfectly!

I used the bracket templates to create the shapes out of paper for this little cluster. It's so simple!

I absolutely ADORE the sequins in all of Teresa's new lines! GASP! SWOON! I die.

Another paper cut from one of the bracket templates peeking out!

Don't forget!! ONE lucky person will be winning a $25 gift card to spend at Kiwi Lane!! Leave comments on the different blog posts throughout the hop to be entered. The giveaway winner will be announced by KLD next Thursday, August 8th!

Everyday

Everyday . . .

Everyday I will be excited about what lies ahead.

Everyday I will take NOTHING for granted.

Everyday I will find an opportunity to make someone else's day.

Everyday I will make my own day.

Everyday I will make sure my kids know how special they are.

Everyday I will encourage them to never give up.

Everyday I will never give up.

Everyday I will smile for no reason.

Everyday I will laugh at nothing.

Everyday I will give of myself.

Everyday I will re-learn humility.

Everyday I will Enjoy the beauty around me.

Everyday I will believe I possess beauty.

Everyday I will learn something new.

Everyday is an opportunity

a gift

an adventure waiting to happen

Everyday only lasts one day

Everyday I will make the most of it.

Here's one thing I learned today, that I've been wanting to try for a long time! For instructions, click HERE

What I've Been Up To

The last few weeks have been a complete whirlwind! At the beginning of the month, I was lucky enough to get to meet Teresa Collins. That woman is amazing! Seriously the sweetest, strongest woman ever. I told her about my idea for a scrapbook line and she invited me to lunch to talk about it some more. GAH! Totally one of my most favorite lunches ever. :) I started reading her blog and was so impressed by her as a person. The strength she displays, and the love she has for those around her and her love of what she does. So inspiring! I decided I wanted to make her this, as a thank you for being such an inspiration and for taking time out her insanely busy schedule to help me.

The paper in the dress comes from a TCD line. :)

She totally is strength and love. :)

I love the dimension the ribbon adds to it.

These are vintage buttons from the 1950s. I had to use some from my little stash of vintage buttons for this! They looked to good not to. lol
I've been making more things for my Etsy site as well!

I may just keep this headband for me! hahaha
I made this for a Mother's Day present for myself. ;) 3 pearls for 3 kids! I'll be adding it to the Etsy site soon.
My friend Leslie asked me to sew a bag for her to hold her portfolio pieces for her photography class. I had a lot of fun with this!

She wanted a pocket to put information cards in. I used the same fabric to line the flap.
I put together this frame for Roberts Crafts. We're doing a Youtube video featuring all the new frames that have come into the stores. I did another frame, but don't have a picture of it yet. It was a lot of fun! Think buttons and modeling paste. ;) lol

I'm really looking forward to May! Hopefully it will decide to be spring, and stop snowing on us! Also, it will be my daughter's 8th birthday! She's really excited about being baptized and turning 8. Every time we talk, she's telling me what else she wants to do for her birthday party. LOL! So far, she wants to go to the water park, have a pinata, go see Kung Fu Panda 2 (it comes out ON her birthday, May 26) and I can't even remember what else. I'm sure Pirate Island Pizza is in there too. hahaha! It's going to be a FUN month!!

Sneak Peak!!

I'm going to be guest posting on the Roberts Crafts blog this week. . . I'm going to show how to create all kinds of fantastic jewelry using scrapbook supplies!! I'm really excited about the projects I've done, and wanted to share a sneak peak of a few of them.

The only elements that did NOT come from the scrapbooking section are the parts of the earring that go through the ears (not studs. . . shoot, what are those ones called? LOL) and the green beads. Everything else is a scrapbook embellishment or paper. I have more earrings made using brads from the Posh collection of Teresa Collins Designs, and a leather bracelet cuff with Bo Bunny embellishments.

I can't wait to show you all of them! :)
